Bily Ray Mabe, age 63, of Gray, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at his home.
Billy was a man of many talents and passions, with a particular knack for finding the best shopping deals. His true calling, however, lay in mechanics, where he utilized his gifted hands and sharp mind to breathe life into countless cars. he had an unwavering passion that even physical setbacks couldn't diminish. He was always seen tinkering with his car, working on it with absolute dedication and an infectious enthusiasm.
His professional life was marked by his ambitious nature as he worked for many years with CertainTeed and was a truck driver with Schneider. His accomplishments in his career were a testament to his hard work and dedication.
However, what mattered most to Billy was his family. He was a loving father and grandfather, whose dedication shone brightest when he was with his loved ones. His family was his world, and he filled their lives with warmth, love, and a sense of security that only a man of his caliber could provide.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Wayne Mabe and Cecil Mae Mabe; and cousin, Kenny Mabe.
Billy is survived by his sisters, Tressa Long (Kenny) and Lisa Porter; brothers, Douglas Mabe and Billy Christopher Mabe; sons, Brandon Mabe (Reba), DJ Mabe (Barbara), and Luke Mabe (Tiffany); and grandchildren, Bailey, Brody, Kyleigh, Madalyn, Noah, Eli, Emersyn, Averie, Weston, and Cambri.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 pm on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will follow at 3 pm.
Burial will follow in Mabe Cemetery at Little Indian Creek, in Knox County, KY.
In Lieu of Flowers, contributions can be made to assist with expenses. To make a donation, please call or stop by the funeral home or you may make your online donation by selecting the "Donate Now" icon. The family will be given a list of all who have helped.
