Billy Joe Madden

Billy Joe Madden, age 82 of Thayer, MO, was born November 22, 1943, in Oregon County, MO, and passed away December 31, 2025.
He was married to Elizabeth Ann Cole on April 29, 1967. Survivors include: his children, Holly Isom & husband Jeff of West Plains, Billy Ray Madden & wife Monica of Thayer, MO, Rebecca Madden of West Plains, MO, Rodney Langley & wife Shelley of Thayer, MO; 1 brother, Raymond Madden of West Plains, MO; 4 sisters, Ruth Huddle & husband Allen of Jonesboro, AR, Sharon Bowers & husband Jim of Thayer, MO, Carra Manning of Jonesboro, AR, and Pam Bowers of West Plains, MO; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded by: his wife, Elizabeth Ann (Cole) Madden; his parents, Cleo & Mildren Madden; 1 sister, Mary Louise Mitchell; 1 brother, Henry Ray Madden.
Billy Joe entered the US Army on May 18, 1965, and was a Vietnam Vet. He was a member of the Gee and Haw/West Plains Wagon Club as well as the Thayer/Mammoth Spring Saddle Club and Oregon County Wagon Train Association. He was a former Oregon County Commissioner and was involved in numerous county & city affairs. He was an equipment operator, a farmer, and also did custom hay bailing.
Funeral services will be 2pm Sunday, January 4, 2025, at the Clary Funeral Home in Thayer, MO, with Bro. James Trimmer officiating, and burial following in the Arytown Cemetery. Visitation will be 11am-1pm Sunday prior to the service.
