Billy Nunn Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fletcher Funeral Home on Jan. 15, 2026.
Billy Martin Nunn was born April 26, 1942, in Apache, Oklahoma to Leon and Ethyel Nunn. He was a lifetime resident of Apache and graduated from Apache High School in 1960. Bill married Ann Doyle on September 1, 1961, and they were married for 59 years.
From an early age, he learned the value of hard work and stewardship of the land – values that shaped a lifetime devoted to farming and ranching. Bill spent his life working the land, raising cattle and caring for his family. He believed this was more than an occupation, it was a way of life, one built on perseverance and pride in honest work. Whether before sunrise or long after sunset, Bill could always be found tending to his livestock or fixing what needed to be fixed on the farm.
Beyond ranching and farming, he was known for his love of sports, horse racing, hunting, having coffee at the coffee shop in town and of course being with his family. He enjoyed playing sports at Apache High School and was part of the first Apache football team to make the state playoffs! Bill also enjoyed going on the Kinnard family Colorado hunting trips each year.
Bill and Ann were strong supporters of their three sons and everything they were involved in throughout their lives. They also had a deep love for their grand and great-grandchildren.
Bill is survived by three sons: David and Kelly Nunn of Chickasha, Robert and Karen Nunn of Medina, Ohio, and Larry and Jennie Nunn from Apache; two sisters: Sharon Hill from Yukon and Connie Frazier from Apache; one brother, Bob Nunn from Apache; 13 grandchildren: David Allen Nunn and wife Sarah, Jordan Ann Nunn, Josie Tate Thrasher and husband Dalton, Noah Cole Nunn, Jacob Tyler Nunn, Nathan Michael Nunn, John Robert Nunn, Jason Edward Nunn, Billy Dean Nunn and wife Kadree, Brayden Louis Nunn, Blayke Edward Nunn, Jessica Marshall and husband Jason, and Jennifer Hurst and husband Shelby; 12 great grandchildren and 1 one the way; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carol Ann Nunn; parents Leon and Ethyel Nunn; and sister, Shirley Hutchinson.
A memorial service for Billy Nunn will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Apache Cowboy Church.
