Mr Billy Thomas Phillips

Bill Phillips, 80, a long-time resident of Barstow and Yellow Freight retiree, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2008. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty. A son and daughter-in law, Billy and Linda Phillips of Barstow, a daughter, Darlene Jones of Kansas, a son and daughter-in law, Darrell and Linda Phillips of Colton. He is preceded in death by his son Sheldon Phillips. Grandchildren include, Cary and Mike Moody (Kansas), Tami Jones (Kansas), Brodie and Molly Jones (Kansas), Sheldon Phillips, Jr. (Georgia), Billy Phillips and Mark Phillips of Barstow. Great grandchildren include Sebastian, Savannah and Charlie. Survivors also include siblings, Charles Phillips and Wanda Wolford. After graduating from high school, Bill joined the Merchant Marines and soon thereafter married the love of his life, Betty. Favorite hobbies include,boating, camping and fishing with family and friends. He especially enjoyed the simple pleasures like sitting out on the front porch sipping a cup of coffee or a glass of iced tea with his sweetheart by his side.
