Billy Joe Raine

1953 - 2023

Billy Joe Raine entered into eternal rest at his residence on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the age of 70. He was a native of Stateline, MS and a resident of Avondale, LA. "BJ" and "Mr. Bill", as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was a graduate of Stateline High School. He was avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. Billy retired in 2016 after 43 years of service from Avondale Shipyard as a pipe testing superintendent. Beloved husband of Martha L. Raine. Devoted father of Carolyn (Terrance) Jones, Clinton Walley, April Raine, Lakeshia (Surtauras) Crenshaw, LaQuinya (Troy) Sanders, and Kimya (Sahara) Wicker. Son of the late Joe Nathan and Sadie Bell Raine. Grandson of the late Chestang (Nezer) Raine and Ollie (Parefine) Powe. Brother of Curtis Lee Raine and the late Martha Nell Raine, also survived by 12 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastor officers, and members of Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church 441 Wilson St. Marrero, LA on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. at the above-named church.
