Billy Joe "Bill" ReedApril 24, 1942 - August 29, 2025

With heavy hearts, the family of Billy Joe "Bill" Reed, 83, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, mourns his passing as he went to be with the Lord on August 29, 2025.

Born in Story, Arkansas, on April 24, 1942, to Tommie and Marie Reed, Bill's family instilled in him values that shaped his journey - the importance of an honest day's work, doing things the right way, and always giving your best effort. These lessons became the foundation of the man he was - straightforward, dependable, and devoted to his family.

Bill had a gift for building. As a home builder, he poured his skill and pride into hundreds of custom homes that stand as a testament to his craftsmanship. When he wasn't on a job site, he could often be found tinkering in his shop, creating and fixing with the same passion he carried into everything he did.

Sports and the outdoors brought Bill joy throughout his life. From playing baseball as a boy to competing in softball well into adulthood, he traveled the country with teams and built lasting friendships along the way. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing with family and friends, and visiting the mountains of Colorado.

Known for his straightforward nature, Bill didn't have much patience for laziness, but he would lend a helping hand to anyone and had endless devotion for his family. He was a loving husband to his cherished wife, Patricia, and a proud father to Cole (Jessika) Reed, Angela Barker, Kristal Barker, and Joey (Shannon) Barker. He is also survived by his sister, Alidene Ragan, and was preceded in death by his sister Bernice Johnston and his brother Sherleen Reed. Bill was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom brought him great pride and joy.

Friends and loved ones will remember his honesty, his storytelling, and his generosity. Bill leaves behind a legacy of integrity, hard work, and love - values that will continue to live on through his family and all who knew him.

Services will be held at Caruth Village Funeral Home in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 4, from 5-7 p.m., and the funeral will be held on Friday, September 5, at 2 p.m.

Honorary pallbearers are Kamma Reed, Colby Reed, Briar Carpenter, Rusher Reed, Oliver Barker, Don Harris, and Donnie Tillery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Faith Church, 22357 N. Sardis Rd, Mabelvale, AR 72103 and/or Freedom Church - Hot Springs, 320 Ouachita Ave., Hot Springs, AR 71901.
