Billy “Ricky” Rhylon Cantley, 73, of Keithville, Louisiana passed away on January 10, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Ricky graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1968. After school he proudly served 4 years in the United States Navy aboard aircraft carriers, then began a career as a maintenance supervisor at APP Piping Products until his retirement in 2010. Upon retiring he enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, hot air ballooning, camping, woodworking, jigsaw puzzles, and most recently paint by numbers. Ricky met Pam and they married the next year in 1978. Their marriage was a true love story that everyone could see.
He was known and appreciated for his very dry sense of humor and a special whistle that only he could do that everyone will remember. Ricky will be missed by his sisters who always fell for his jokes and thought of him as their rock. Also missing him will be his special girl, furbaby Jolie.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Texie and Lamar Cantley; and nephews, Michael David Langford and Tyler Raye Berge. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Johnson Cantley; daughter, Marsha Wall Whitman; sisters, Debbie Langford and husband David, Carol Cantley, Emily Cantley and partner Willie Terry, and Julie Berge; along with a host of very loved nieces and nephews.
Pam would like to thank the EMS and the caregivers at Christus Highland Hospital for the care that was provided to Ricky.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport.
