Billy Rose

William Halstead Rose, 88, known as "Billy," passed away at home surrounded by his family in the early morning of October 23, 2025. Born in the family residence in Cheesequake to the late Milton Oliver and Lelia (Quackenbush) Rose, Billy settled and raised his family in Matawan in 1967. He retired from Future Chevrolet in Matawan where he worked as a Service Manager. His passion in life was hunting and all outdoor activities. Billy was welcomed into Heaven by his parents and four siblings; Charlotte, Tommy, Mary and Arlene. He leaves behind his loving wife Georgene "Jean," daughter Donna Godowski and her husband Eugene, granddaughter Krystal and her husband Alex, and three great-grandchildren Gabriella, William and Theodore. Family and friends are invited to gather to Waitt Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, NJ 07751 on Sunday, October 26, 2025 beginning at 11am. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 1:30pm. At the request of the family, Billy will be laid to rest privately in the family plot of Old Tennant Cemetery in Manalapan.
