Billy Edward Scott passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his dear loved ones on Monday December 15, 2025, at the age of 83.

Billy was born on March 27, 1942, to William Edward and Vida Mae Scott of Llano, Texas. He grew up on his family's ranch that had been a part of the original Scott Ranch dating back to approximately 140 years ago. He enjoyed the quiet peaceful life that the country always offered him. He learned many skills during his lifetime. His parents taught him respect, morals, values and the difference between right and wrong. They taught him about raising cattle at an early age. He carried that knowledge with him through his lifetime. He continued to raise cattle into his early 70's before handing over the responsibility to his two children. Billy loved to hunt and fish all the while spending time with family.

He grew up attending school in Llano, Texas. After high school graduation he worked at a local feed store in Llano. It was while working at the local feed store that he met and fell in love with his soon to be long time sweetheart, Joyce Elaine Ross. After dating a few years, the couple decided to marry. They joined hands in marriage on June 27, 1967, at the First Christian Church in Llano, Texas.

Billy left the feed store to begin his work at the Moore State Bank (now known as Arrowhead Bank). He worked at the bank for 14 years before leaving the job. He moved on to work at Buttery Hardware Store in telephone sales. He retired from Buttery Hardware after a long 30 years of service to the company. He made many friends along the way, several of whom he remained in contact with for years. After his retirement he spent his time with his family. He enjoyed being at the family ranch taking care of his cattle. He raised his two children to respect the land and what is offered. He taught his children to hunt and fish as his parents taught him. His greatest joy was found in his family. It showed with all he did for them over the years. If you ever wanted to find Billy, it wasn't hard. He was either hunting, fishing, bar-b-queuing, dancing or resting in his easy chair. He loved to watch old western's especially John Wayne. He enjoyed reading Louie L'Amour books and listening to country music.

Billy attended the First Christian Church in Llano, Texas. He served many job titles throughout his years within the church. He enjoyed serving the lord and helping those in need. He always had a warm smile that could light up a room. His laughter was contagious. He loved to tell stories of the past times spent with family.

Billy was a member of the Llano Masonic Lodge for many years. He served many positions within the lodge. Anyone who knew him couldn't help but to love him. He was his family's strong rock that held them together. He was kind, Compassionate and loyal.

Billy was his family's ultimate pride, joy, and happiness. His love for his family and God overflowed with all he did for anyone and everyone who knew him. He will live on in our hearts forever. We will treasure the memories we shared with him always. Memories that will last us a lifetime.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Scott and Vida Mae Scott. His beautiful wife of 53 years, Joyce Elaine Scott.

He is survived by his son, Terry Wayne Scott of Llano, Texas. His daughter, Christie Michelle Graves and husband Kevin of Llano, Texas. His grandson, Kevin James Graves of Killeen, Texas.
