Billy Smith

Billy Elmo Smith, age 82, of Siloam, passed away at his home on Friday night June 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Stokes County on Oct. 15, 1940, to the late William "Alvis" Smith and Thelma Louisa Woods Smith. Mr. Smith retired from RJR Tobacco Company. After his retirement he enjoyed farming, and also ran a lawn care business. He loved hunting and fishing as well as bluegrass and country music. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Lois Marsh Smith of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna Davis (James), Billy Craig Smith (Kim Dockery); grandchildren, Amber Marie Davis Brown (Colton), Jacob Daniel Smith, Carson Lee Smith, Laykin Gracie Smith; three nieces and two nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a sister, Rilla Mae Smith Wright; brother, William "Geno" Smith. Graveside services will be held on Saturday June 24, at 2 p.m. at New Home Church of Christ Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Wright officiating.
