Billy Williams Obituary

MONTICELLO - Billy D. Williams, 67, of Monticello passed away at 7:42 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 26, 2025) at Kirby Medical Center, Monticello.

Billy was born on Aug. 24, 1958, in Decatur, the son of Delbert and Joan (Siddens) Williams. He married Mechel Holladay on Aug. 29, 1981, in Monticello.    

Billy is survived by his wife, Mechel Williams of Monticello; daughter, Stephanie Berry (Cody) of Villa Grove; grandson, Stetson Berry; brother, Joe Williams (Phyllis) of Urbana; and sisters, Bertha Davis (Rick) of Flora and Jennis Williams of Bement.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Billy worked as a heavy-equipment operator for almost 40 years. He was a member of Local 841. Billy enjoyed camping, boating, horse shows and loved spending time with his grandson Stetson.

No services will be held at this time.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be sent to the family at mackey-wrightfuneralhome.com.

Mechel, I am so sorry to see this. It's been a while since I've seen you, just wanted to let you know how sorry I am. I'm sure Bill and Randy are talking machines and various jobs, having a good old time. Call me if you need to talk, anytime. Hugs to you and your family.
