BILLY JOE WRIGHT, age 91, of Jackson, Ohio, went to be with his Lord on Monday, May 8, 2023 at St. Catherine's Manor of Washington CH.
He was born on June 30, 1931 in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Virgil Marion and Lucy Marie (Maddox) Wright. Billy obtained his GED and proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Armco Steel in 1993. Billy was a faithful member at the Faith Ministry Center in Jackson. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Jean Wright.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Mary Lea (Pennington) Wright, whom he married on April 17, 1965; his children, Rebekah (Dennis) Milstead, and Joseph (Brandi) Wright; grandchildren, Wesley Milstead, Charley Milstead, Grace Gerber, Mary Gerber, Katlyn (Ryan) Hurd, and Allyson (Harley Martin) Leach; great-granddaughters, Florence Claire, and Maeve Lea; and brothers, Crick (Sarah) Wright, and Dallas (Rose) Stambaugh. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Faith Ministry Church, 24 Walter St., Jackson, Ohio 45640, with Rev. Tom Dishong officiating with burial to follow at the Bethel Ridge Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
