Bishop Robert Lee Nichols Sr., Prelate, Bishop of the Texas East Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. Passed away on January 14, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on December 7, 1945, Bishop Nichols dedicated his life to serving others and exemplifying the principles of love, compassion, and faith.

Bishop Nichols was a pillar in the Church of God in Christ community and the founder of Christ Holy Temple Church of God in Christ. His unwavering commitment to his ministry inspired countless individuals, bringing them closer to their faith and guiding them through their journeys in life. His warm spirit and welcoming nature created an atmosphere where everyone felt accepted and valued.

Bishop Nichols enjoyed an extraordinary 54-year marriage with his beloved wife, First Lady Carolyn Nichols. Together, they shared a bond that was an example of love and partnership for others. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, taking immense pride in his family. His legacy as a nurturing figure extended beyond his biological family, as he embraced many in the community, He had a unique ability to make others feel important, truly embodying the essence of what it meant to be a father to all.

His love and benevolence left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him. Bishop Robert L. Nichols Sr. will be deeply missed, not only by his family, but by the multitude of lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey on this earth. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who cherished him, reminding us all of the love and strength found in community and faith.
