Blaise John Figura
December 15, 1954 – September 7, 2025
Blaise John Figura passed away peacefully in his home in
Orlando, Florida, after living with Lewy Body Dementia. He was 70 years old.
Born in St. Paul, Minnesota on December 15, 1954, Blaise was the son of John and June Figura, both of whom preceded him in death. His early years were spent moving to various cities across the country due to his father's military service, but it was in Orlando where he would eventually put down roots, raise a family, and spend the rest of his life.
Blaise served in the United States Marine Corps as a Gunnery Sergeant for just under 17 years. As he often said, "Once a Marine, always a Marine." His deep sense of duty, discipline, and honor stayed with him throughout his life.
For 45 years, Blaise worked at Daniels Manufacturing Corporation, where he rose from an entry-level position in landscaping to become Production Manager of a 70+ person team. He built his career through dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to growth - becoming not only a leader but also a mentor and steady presence within the company.
A man of deep faith, Blaise was devoted to the Catholic Church. For decades, he was faithful to his hour in the Perpetual Adoration Chapel from 3–4 a.m. on Sunday nights. Often, he would bring his children, Delia and Harrison, with him -tucking them in with pillows and comforters while he prayed. He prayed the rosary daily and lived his faith with quiet consistency.
Blaise was a man of many quiet talents - woodworking, sailing, reading, gardening, and a fondness for old Westerns. He was also known for his generosity and gentle spirit. If there was a turtle crossing the road, you could count on him to stop and help it along. When he retired his beloved sailboat, he gifted it to the Boy Scouts of America - an organization he supported and participated in alongside his son, Harrison.
He loved deeply and quietly, especially his wife, Elizabeth, the love of his life. From the moment he saw her across the machine shop floor at DMC, he knew she was the one. He was right. Their love was a constant - she was his world.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Figura; his children, Harrison Figura (Misa Nguyen) and Delia Blaise Figura (Phillip Edwards); his pup, Lady; his siblings, Kris Beckham (Harold), Gregg Figura (Lynn), and Ann Schwartz (Bob) and his three namesakes: Delia Blaise Figura, Griffin Blaise Figura, and Isaac Blaise Minarik.
Blaise was a stoic man of few words, but once you were in his heart, you discovered a quiet warmth, a quick wit, and a deeply generous soul.
