Blakley Harper Martinez

Blakley Harper Martinez, age 2, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital. Though her time on earth was brief, Blake filled every moment with joy, laughter, and love beyond measure.

Blake was born on September 29, 2023, in Dearborn, Michigan, to her loving parents, Romeo and Amberlynn (Thomas) Martinez. From the moment she arrived, she brought light and happiness to everyone around her. Blake loved to play and was always on the move, running around and exploring the world with curiosity and excitement. She especially loved playing with her ball pit balls, her kitchen play set, and the many toys she adored. Her favorite shows included Ms. Rachel, VeggieTales, and Blue’s Clues, and she found great comfort in her yellow polka-dotted bear.

Animals held a special place in Blake’s heart. She loved her dogs Lucy & Tucker and enjoyed playing with her three kitties—so much, her very first word was “kitty.” Blake shared a beautiful bond with her younger brother, who was 12 months younger and he loved following her every move. She delighted in making silly faces at him, especially when they sat next to each other in the backseat. Their connection was filled with laughter and love.

Known for her strong personality, Blake never liked to keep her socks or shoes on and was famously the world’s pickiest eater. Her favorite foods included carrots, mashed potatoes, and finely ground protein shakes. Blake’s life, though short, was full of love, warmth, and unforgettable moments. She will forever be cherished by her parents, brother, and all who were blessed to know her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends until they meet again.

Blake is survived by her loving parents, Romeo & Amberlynn; loving brother, Leon; grandparents, Paul & Lynne Thomas, Daniel Brown-Martinez, and Natasha Salazar-Stoner; aunts & uncles, Nicole Thomas (Kameron Placek), Madison Thomas, Grace Thomas, Jacob Martinez, Christian Spetz, Gabe Spetz, and Isabel Spetz; cousin, Easton Thomas; along with many loving great-grandparents and loving family members. Preceded in death by her uncle, Ryan Thomas.

The family will receive friends at Witzler Shank Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, Monday, January 12, 2026, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Ft. Meigs Union Cemetery.
