Blayne Lequeux Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by O'Connor Mortuary - Laguna Hills Chapel & Mortuary on Sep. 24, 2025.
Blayne Stephen Lequeux, a devout Catholic, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son, passed away on May 19th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and accomplishment. Born in Port Arthur, Texas, in 1945, Blayne lived a life marked by intellectual curiosity, a strong spiritual foundation, and a deep commitment to his family. For the past 15 years, he resided with his beloved wife of 55 years, Barbara Lequeux, in Dana Point, California.

Blayne was a proud alumnus of The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. This academic milestone sparked a lifelong passion for astronomy and served as the foundation for a dynamic and accomplished entrepreneurial career. He began as a successful aerospace engineer in California, then became a pioneer in the early computer time-sharing industry. Blayne went on to found and lead four healthcare-focused technology companies and ultimately became a visionary in the development of secure healthcare data information systems.

Blayne's faith was a guiding principle throughout his life. He was a steadfast supporter of the Catholic Church, dedicating his time and energy to its various programs and causes. While an undergraduate student, Blayne led a successful fund-raising campaign for the construction of an additional sanctuary at UT Austin Catholic Student Center. In recent years, he devoted time to the development of content with "That Man is You", a Catholic men's leadership program for parishes (under the auspices of Paradisus Dei).

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Barbara Ann Lequeux. Blayne was a cherished father to his three children: Karen Lequeux Pfeifer, David Blayne Lequeux, and Suzanne Lequeux Duyn. He is also survived by his three younger sisters-Diane Van Kempen, Lydia Dombrowski, and Julie Ewald-five grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Malcolm and Lou Lequeux.
