Condolences to Mr. Elliott's family -

It is truly painful when our loved one is no longer here but it is comforting to know that our Creator understands our grief. More than that, he longs to use his almighty power to restore life and he promises to do so. Please find comfort from the hope conveyed in the many scriptural references on this site.

To Bob Elliott's family my deepest sympathies especially to Bob jr. For giving is mother and father great care over the years that they lived at cundy's harbor. Bob on Sunday's would come to my store in Brunswick and get the N.Y. Times. I new Bob since the late 60's , he was very generous to me and my wife one of things that he gave me was a painting of my old newsstand on Maine street ,l love this work of art so much I now hang on the wall at the Jenney station for a lot of other people to enjoy. Bob thanks for all the wonderful memories and we miss you very much.

These two were great and gave me so much pleasure. My favorite is the "Slow Talkers of America" interview which I think of often when I hear today's announcers jabber on so fast.

I was so fortunate to have known Bob Elliott and his wonderful wife Lee. They were friends with my parents. Bob, ever shy and humble, with a sly sense of humor...Lee, gregarious and fun. THey adored each other and their family. It was always a treat to be with them as kids.

Terrific memories of a kind and gentle and brave man...with such talent.

I lived in New Milford, CT back then. They were great back then and thinking about them now I still get a chuckle. A loss of both of them.

Once, when I was a teenager,Bob and Ray sent me into a fit of laughter in an appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. I woke my father and incurred his wrath while being sent to bed. The whole time I never stopped laughing.I think my dad could've killed me and I just would've kept laughing. I got into bed and couldn't stop laughing. This happened about 45 years ago and I haven't forgotten it. The thing is, it was the most "off the wall" little comment in one of their routines that set me off. Those 2 guys were cloaked in subdued insanity. RIP Bob. You were really a classic.

God Bless Bob and Ray, my father loved them and I got to appreciate them as my father was a well known radio show producr then in the 50's tv and I used to listen to them at home in the mid 50's in Southport Conn then when I moved to LA and was doing voice overs in the 60's met them at CBS TV City when they would come out to gest on various variety shows. If Bob Newhart were two guys Bob and Ray would be him
God bless them

They were the most prolific yet unsung of all the great comedy teams. IMO, they were simply the best comedy team ever. They never had to go below the belt for a laugh and always created such brilliantly funny routines and characters. Thank goodness so much of their oeuvre is preserved digitally now. Moreover, their SNL appearance was among that shows all-time best.

Maybe this classy guy was before my era, but surely he was not before God's time, He never forgets. May the memories, and laughter enjoyed by many help family and friends to look beyond the pain to the joy of one day soon of being with him in 'Paradise' (Luke 23:43). So sorry for your loss

The great routines that Messrs. Elliott and Goulding left with us are never dated, never risque, but always hysterically funny, off-the-wall, clever, and enduring. It is hard to imagine what the world would have been like without them and their humor in it. Now it is hard to say goodbye to both men. RIP your warriors of wit.

I walk for sixty minutes at the mall every day, trying to keep young, and I've been listening to old Bob and Ray recordings as I walk, for almost two years now. Sometimes I smile, and sometimes I laugh. It will feel odd tomorrow to be listening to Bob again. I hope his children and grandchildren find comfort in how deeply his many fans and admirers have loved him and will miss him.

Many of us have been touched by grief. But we cope in knowing that death has a solution. In his great love for you, God has arranged that you will be reunited with your loved one and he will change your sorrow into elation.-(Psalms 30:11, Psalms 121:1-12)
