Bob G. Houston

Houston, Bob G of Waterford went home to be with the Lord on January 17, 2026 at the age of 92. Born on May 21, 1933 in the town of Marmaduke, Arkansas to Lester and Idell Houston, he was the cherished husband of Janet for almost 71 years; loving father of Michael (Karen) Houston; Susan (Paul) Palecki, and Linda (Jeff) Christie; grandfather to Kellie Kource, Joseph Christie, Kaye Christie (deceased), David Houston, Timothy (Carolyn) Houston, Rebekah Houston, Jacob Palecki and Sarah Palecki; great-grandfather to Daniel Weber II, Lacey Kource, Katelyn Houston and Madelyn Houston. He was pre-deceased by his parents Lester and Idell Houston, his brother Lester Houston, and his granddaughter Kaye Christie.

Mr. Houston was a member of Five Points Community Church for almost 40 years where he previously served as a deacon and greeter. He was supervisor of the tool repair department for General Motors Truck & Bus in Pontiac, MI for almost 40 years. His love of working with wood and old clocks saw him restoring and refinishing pieces of furniture for many, many people over the years. He enjoyed golfing, travelling, western novels, history, and going out to breakfast with family and friends.

Mr. Houston served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 23, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Dryer Funeral Home in Holly, MI. Funeral services will be held at Dryer Funeral Home on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 11:00 am (10:00 am visitation and viewing).

Memorials may be made to the Five Points Community Church (please note "Building Fund" on the memo line).
