Robert "Bruce" Fosberg, 89, passed away on January 15, 2026, at his home in West Linn, Oregon, where he had lived for over 60 years.

Robert Fosberg, Jr. was born on November 19, 1936, in Oregon City, Oregon, to Robert Fosberg, Sr. and Anna Lou Fosberg.

Robert graduated from Oregon City High School in 1953 and later attended Oregon State University where he played football for the Beavers. He started his career in the insurance industry and quickly became Regional Manager for Sun Life of Canada and Union Central Insurance. He also worked for the American Heart Association, as well as becoming a beloved school bus driver in West Linn.

Robert married Arlene David on April 6, 1963, at the First Presbyterian Church in Portland, Oregon. The couple had one son, David Fosberg, in 1973.

Robert was best known for his love of history, whether as a contributor to the Oregon Historical Society, or his vast knowledge of American and World War II history. He also loved travel, where he explored locations across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Robert also served as an Airman in the Oregon Air National Guard, where he developed his life-long passion for military aircraft. This passion took him to airshows across the country and culminated with a magical flight over the Portland area in a restored World War II, B-17 Bomber.

He is survived by his son, David Fosberg and daughter-in-law, Lira Razak, of West Linn.

Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; mother, Anna Lou Fosberg; and father, Robert Fosberg, Sr.

The Celebration of Life for Robert will be held on Saturday, January 31st, at 11:00am at Hillside Chapel in Oregon City.

Memorial donations can be made in Robert's name to the West Linn Lions Club.
