Bobbie Smith Obituary

Bobbie Nell Parrish Smith passed from her earthly home on October 21, 2025 aged 89 years. Bobbie, Momma, Aunt Bob, or Granny was one of the most generous souls you could ever know. She was a lifelong caregiver to her parents, her siblings, her children and many others. Bobbie was always at basketball games, plays, stock shows or anything else her children were involved with. She shared many blessings to many young children. Her home was your home any time day or night. Children were always drawn to her. The other love of her life was Junior Smith; they courted and were married in August of 1959. At his passing they had been married 59 wonderful years. Bobbie was a true friend and confidant to many. However, when faced with health challenges she had her faith, which was one of the most important virtues in her life.
Bobbie was blessed by her children, son Trey and his wife Lesa and her daughter Kellye Ruth. The next greatest joy were her two grandchildren, Ashley Renee and her husband Marino of Galveston, Texas and her grandson Nicholas of Hollywood, CA. They were her jewels. Bobbie also had chosen children. They are her nieces Connie (Mike) Shaw, Donna (Daryl) Rich, Tami Warham, Sylvia (Mike) Reuschel, Debbie (Bobby) Calloway, and Susie (Steve) Weber. Each of these were her lights and love. Bobbie loved her nephews Ward Miller, Larry (Jeannie) Hall, James Lee Parrish, Karl Hazelwood, and Greg (Candy) Parrish, all of her grand nieces and grandnephews as well. Other chosen family members are David Foster and Jacob Johnson, Paul and Regina Garner and Haley Hoisington, who was her sweet friend and caregiver up until the very last day. Many people enjoyed her quick wit and amazing sense of humor.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents Charley and Jo Parrish, six sisters and brothers nephews, Gary Gene Parrish, Jr., Fritz Haxelwood, and a niece, Chancella Mackenzie Parrish.
Bobbie is survived by her son Trey and his bride Lesa, her daughter Kellye and grandchildren Ashley and husband Marino and grandson Nicholas and by her youngest brother Gary Gene Parrish. Donations may be made in her memory to the Shriners Children's Hospital of Texas, 815 Market St. Galveston TX 77550.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 24, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home at 906 Gregg St. The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Westbrook, followed by the burial at 2:00 PM at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring. God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, or sun without rain. But he did promise strength for the days and comfort for the tears, and light for the way. Amen
