Bobbie Arlene ( Young) Willis of Boones Mill , Virginia passed away peacefully on the night of May 26, 2025 under Hospice care. She was surrounded at the time of her passing and the days before by many friends and family. She was a breast cancer survivor but her body lost the fight against neuroendocrine cancer.

Bobbie was born in Hopewell, Pennsylvania to Robert Roy Young and Anna Belle Young ( both deceased) on February 1st, 1955. She learned her moral foundation in Hopewell along side her older brother Vernon Ray Young and Linda Louise ( Young) Biddle. She graduated from Northern Bedford County High School in 1973 and then moved to Washington D.C. to work in the offices of the FBI.
It was there that she met a man from Alabama after he bumped into her and knocked her belongings onto the floor.
Ronnie Willis and Bobbie Willis were married in Hopewell , Pennsylvania on April 19th, 1975. They stayed married until Ronnie’s passing on May 19th, 2022. April 19th of this year would have been their 50th wedding anniversary. Their love for each other brought them two children, Kristopher Charles Willis and Angela Jeanine Willis ( deceased) . Dad’s search for adventure moved them from D.C. to Tallahassee , Florida to Houston, Texas to Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to Florence, Alabama to Jacksonville, Florida, to McGaheysville, Virginia and finally to Boones Mill, Virginia.
No matter where they were Bobbie always made it feel like home.
With all the places they lived many friends were made throughout. She held her friendships and relations in high regard.
Bobbie was a good listener and was always up for adventure herself.
Her relationship with God was her most powerful. Without him she wouldn’t have made it through the passing of a child, a husband, and the battle with cancer. While living in Lawrenceburg , TN Ronnie and Bobbie were members of the Etheridge Church of Christ . When they moved to Florence, AL they became members of Woodlawn Church of Christ. Their love for those churches and its members stayed with them both until their passing.
They became members of the Rocky Mount Church of Christ when they moved to Boones Mill Virginia. After many years of trying to find a church that felt like home they had found it. Bobbie’s family loves and appreciates everything the wonderful people of that congregation have done for her and her family. They helped us honor and grieve Ronnie , battled with mom through her cancer diagnosis, and were a blessing in the end of Bobbie’s life.

Bobbie’s most sacred possessions were her two grandchildren Exa Isabella Willis and Jason Kristopher Willis. Cancer, Chemo and surgeries could not keep her away from ballfields, parades, and any other activities they were involved in. She was loud and proud and everyone is going to miss that.

The family would like to thank Blue Ridge Cancer Center and Good Samaritan Hospice for the great care that was given to Bobble and the family.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her father Robert Roy Young and mother Anna Belle Young of Hopewell Virginia. Her husband Ronnie Eugene Willis and her daughter Angela Jeanine Willis.

She is survived by her brother Vernon Ray Young and his wife Susan Young of Hopewell , PA along with their 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Her sister Linda Louise ( Young) Biddle and her husband Duane Biddle of Roaring Spring, PA along with their son and 4 grandchildren. Bobbie is survived by her son Kristopher Charles Willis and his wife Jena Willis of Roanoke, Va and Bobbie’s grandchildren Exa Isabella Willis and Jason Kristopher Willis.
Bobbie always felt that her brothers and sisters in law showed her the respect and love that real siblings share. She loved them all and their families so very much. She is also survived by her brother( in law) Gary Willis and sister( in law)Alicia Willis of Florence, AL , along with their 2 children, , 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
Bobbie is also survived by many cousins she loved so dearly and countless friends that she couldn’t have thrived without their kindness.
