Bobby Baxter Allman, 76, of Gold Hill, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.
Bobby was born on December 30, 1946, in Cabarrus County to the late Robert and Rachel Allman. He was also preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Jessica Cochran.
Bobby was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He served honorably and received medals for marksmanship, the national defense service medal, and expeditionary medal. After many years of service, Bobby retired from Otis Elevator. He was a devoted and loved coach of Cabarrus County youth softball and basketball. During retirement, he loved to fish with his grandchildren and cater holiday events for friends and loved ones. Bobby also hosted many National Softball Association (NSA) state church tournaments. In 2011, Bobby was inducted into the NSA hall of fame for his contributions as an exemplary Umpire.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Judy Blackwelder Allman of Gold Hill; sister, Joan Eudy of Concord; daughters, Heidi Allman of Concord, and Bobbi (Bob-C) Carter of Concord; cherished grandchildren, Hannah Fisher, Ansley Carter, Rachel Ochoa, and Jack Carter; as well as great- grandchildren, Ethan Mallard and Elijah Cabrera.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Gene Beaver. Burial with military honors will follow at Roberta Methodist Church, 3925 Cochran Rd, Concord.
Memorial donations may be made to Westford Methodist Church, 273 State Hwy 49, Concord, NC 28025.
