Bobby Joe Barbee, age 82, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025 at the North MS Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi.
Funeral services for Bobby will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service.
Bobby Joe was born on August 5, 1943 to the late James Oscar Barbee, Jr. and Martha Lewellen Barbee in Panola County, Mississippi.
Throughout his life, Bobby dedicated himself to his career as a farmer and logger. He thrived on staying busy and found immense satisfaction in his labor, which reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for those he loved. Bobby's hands were calloused from years of hard work, yet his heart was gentle and kind.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Bobby had a profound love for horseback riding, especially cherishing the time spent with his beloved horse, Banner.
A devoted family man, Bobby loved spending quality time with his loved ones, creating lasting memories that will be treasured. He was also a member of the Mt. Olivet Methodist Church, where he found community and connection.
Those he leaves behind include his wife, Pam S. Barbee of Batesville, MS; his children, Stacy Barbee (Mel Clark) of Oakland, MS, Ashley Green (Matthew) of Hernando, MS, and Brandon Petit (Lindsey) of Batesville, MS; one sister, Sherry Anderson (Bobby) of Batesville, MS; his sister-in-law, Jo Jones Barbee of Batesville, MS; nine grandchildren, Nicole, Erin, Logan, Maddy, Rhett, Jackson, Lucas, Georgia, Burch and six great-grandchildren, Karli, Amory, Addison, Hudson, Harper and Hattie.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jimmie Lee Barbee.
Bobby Joe lived a remarkable life filled with hard work, passion, and a deep love for his family. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Bobby Joe ask that any memorial contributions be made to Mt. Olivet Methodist Church, 60 Hunt Rd. Batesville, MS 38606.
