My memories of Bob bring warm images of his love for the young students he served at Seaton Elementary in Lapeer. His kindness, his gentleness, his easy smile, his ability to calm - all were signature attributes that he brought to students and staff as well. Bob´s light will continue to shine through those he touched. He made our world a better place!

Ah, Bob. Shrimp on a Barbie, Bob. It was my fortune to meet him when he became Dean of Students at Seaton Elementary. There wasn´t enough time in our school day for his antics! I just might have worked a little less because of him. We became school buddies. He had a keen way with talking to students in a friendly but firm tone. Everyone respected Mr. Collins.
Bob and I built a friendship that went beyond the school. I met and visited with Marilyn and Bob at both their home and my own. My husband got a kick out of our summer bbq´s when Bob and Marilyn joined us. The joking never stopped and the laughter permeated our time!
Bob Collins, my friend, you have been a gift to this world and to me. Thank you.
With a sad heart but gratefulness,

Bobby and me started our Police careers with the Sterling Heights Police Department on the same day and we had many a coffee break together and whether it was a good day or a bad day he always had a smile and would brighten up your day. Always managed to make good out of a bad situation or day had a great sense of humor. He was liked by everyone and will be sorely missed condolences to his family.

I had the honor of working with Bobby. He was type of man you enjoyed being around. His laugh, his sense of humor and his outlook on life. Even though he has left us Bobby will live on in our memories.
I want to let the person that wrote Bobby´s story to know it could not have been written any better.

Bobby Collins was one of the finest officers on the Sterling Heights Police Department. I´ll never forget his laugh, his smile, and that "southern twang" when he spoke about his home and family. What a great guy, and it was a pleasure to know him.
