Bobby Vance Darnes DARNES, BOBBY VANCE, 91, of Maryville, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from U.S. Steel in Michigan. Bobby was associated with several country music bands in Michigan and later played at the Music Barn in downtown Madisonville. He was a fine fiddle player. He enjoyed trips to the mountains, camping and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Birdie Tilley Darnes; sister, Loma Farner and brothers, Ray and Larry Darnes. Survivors: devoted sister-in-law, Jean Darnes, of Maryville; nephews, David Darnes, Eric Darnes and Kenneth Darnes; nieces, Kay Torbett, Charlotte Darnes Watson, Edna Terwilliger, Barbara Stroupe, Sheila Cole and Denise Darnes Smith; uncle, Austin Darnes; aunts, Faytella Campbell and Barbara Della Lowe. Funeral 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Biereley-Hale Chapel. Interment will follow in Cane Creek Cemetery with military honors provided by V.F.W. Goldstar Post 5156 and American Legion Post 106. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors, V.F.W. Goldstar Post 5156 or a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
