Bobby Gene Dunn

Bobby Gene Dunn, born September 27, 1930, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025, at the age of 94. Memorial service to be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, 10:00 am at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton Street, with Pastor Jeffrey Wright officiating. Burial to follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens, 1601 E Llano Estacado.
Bobby dedicated much of his life to working for the Santa Fe Railroad, where his hard work and dedication left a lasting impact. But beyond his career, he was a man of many passions. He found his greatest joys in spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, and sharing his signature humor. With an unmatched ability to tell a joke and bring laughter to any room, Bobby had a gift for making people smile.
He also had a deep love for words, often expressing himself through poetry. Whether capturing a heartfelt moment or spinning a clever rhyme, his writings reflected his wisdom, wit and the experiences of a life well lived.
Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Ona Beth Dunn. Their love was a testament to devotion and partnership, and now they are reunited once again.
He is survived by his loving daughter; Marlynda and her husband Ronnie Williams of Clayton, NM, as well as his son Lennis Dunn of Clovis, NM. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren; Cody Williams (Shannon), Tristan Dunn, Amberly Ward (Jordan), Tyler Cancilla (Dan), Chad Williams (Lori), and Will Dun (Linda). He was also blessed with a large and cherished group of great grandchildren, Savanah Dunn, Garrett Dunn, Emerson Beiland, Parker Williams, Kobyn Ward, Fynley Williams, Brynli Williams, Averi Williams, Atticus Dunn, Liam Dunn, Brant Williams, Kre Dunn, Carli Williams, Ruby Dunn, Cambri Williams, and Cullen Williams, and his great-great grandchild, Keenan Dunn, will carry his memory forward into future generations.
Bobby will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His warm laughter, poetic spirit, and the love he shared with his family will be cherished forever.
May he rest in peace and be reunited with the love of his life and surrounded by the memories of a life beautifully lived.
