Bobby Morris Fisher, 93, of Concord, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 at NC State Veterans Home in Salisbury.
Bobby was born in Cabarrus County on April 27, 1930 to the late Robert Carroll Fisher and the late Bessie Alexander Fisher.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Helms Fisher, in 2003 and daughter, Ann Helms Fisher, in 1965. He was also preceded in death by his brother, J. Marshall Fisher (Freida), and sisters Virginia Fisher Moss (Harold), Reba Fisher McEachern (Harold), and Linda Fisher Sorrell (Jim).
He was born and raised on a farm on Pitts School Road in Cabarrus County. He was a charter member of Pitts Baptist Church until serving four years in the Air Force. He married Polly Helms Fisher in 1953 and then joined McGill Baptist Church in 1955 where he remained active in all phases of the church and served as a deacon and choir member. He sang with the Piedmont Singing Men for ten years. He also worked in sheet metal service until 1972 and then began working in the grocery business with Associated Food Brokers in Charlotte, retiring in 1991.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:00 on Friday July 28, 2023 at McGill Baptist Church. A funeral service will immediately follow from 1:00 - 1:45, and will be officiated by Pastor Dr. Steve Ayers. Burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis at Hwy. 29N at I85, Exit 58, Concord.
Survivors include wife Brenda Fisher, brother Bud C. Fisher (Thelma), sister Doris Wright (The Late Alfred), step-daughter Natalie DeBardeleben (John), step-son Brent Plott (Cassie), and step-daughter Kris Auten.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P. O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38101 or to McGill Baptist Church, 5300 Poplar Tent Rd, Concord, NC 28027.
