Bobby Gene Gentry beloved Husband, Father, Brother and Grandpa, age 84, of Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born March 8, 1941, to the late Calvin Eugene and Dorothy Absher Gentry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son Ricky, his brothers Paul Gentry and Burnice Gentry; sister Darlene Dunn and his in-laws, Natha and Lillian Allen.
Bob loved farming and his grandkids. He was a member of First Christian Church. He also enjoyed coon hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Johnson County Livestock Association.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Betty Sue Allen Gentry. His two sons Jerry and wife Kim and Gary and wife Aleta Gentry all of Mountain City, Tennessee. Grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Trevor Gentry, Brayden Gentry and Brylee Gentry. Brother Roger (Wanda) Gentry and
Sister Janie (Brian) Trivette. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Dwayne Dickson to officiate. Burial will follow at the Wilson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Gentry, Trevor Gentry, Brayden Gentry, Bud Gentry, Doug Price and Brian Storie.
