Bobby Ray Green

1939 - 2026

Bobby Ray Green, 86, a cherished member of the Providence Community, passed away peacefully at his lifelong home in Granville County, NC, on March 2, 2026. Born October 11, 1939, to Tommie and Rozella Averett Green, Bobby lived by the values of hard work and integrity. He farmed the land he loved, worked over 35 years with A & P Grocery and Food Lion, and once drove a school bus in high school.

Bobby's firm demeanor was matched by a generous heart, and his home was a place of welcome for all. He shared 63 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sandra Duncan Green, and together they raised three children-Rodney Ray Green (Carla), Sharon Faye Breedlove (Kenny), and Tracy Lane Hadley (Carl).

He was a proud grandfather to Stephen (Nikki), Abigail, Trevor (Cameron), Jessica, Melissa (Dillon), and Matthew, and great-grandfather to Braydon, Dallas, Laney Faye, Emersyn, Charlotte, Wyatt, and Avery. The family offers special thanks to Jessie Martin for her loving care and friendship.

Forever in our hearts, his legacy of love and fairness will endure. Funeral services and burial were held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Providence Baptist Church.
