BOBBY HATCH
Bethel Springs, TN: Bobby Grant Hatch, age 83 passed away October 6, 2023, at his home.
He was born July 9, 1940, in Chester County, the son of the late Ulyss G. and Frances Beshires Hatch. He grew up in Silerton and was a 1959 graduate of Bolivar Central High School. After graduation he entered the U.S. Army and served two years. He later joined the TN National Guard and then the Army Reserves-retiring in 2000.
He also had earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Jackson State Community College.
He worked for Bell South for thirty-eight years retiring as Network Technician in 2000.
He married Patsy Smith October 15, 1993. They made their home in the Masseyville Community.
He was an accomplished fisherman and an avid tinkerer. After retirement he volunteered for the Chester County Board of Education doing many maintenance and handyman Jobs.
He was a member of the Sanford Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. Hatch is survived by his wife, Patsy Darlene Smith Hatch of Bethel Springs, three sons, Bob Hatch (Tonya) of Pelham, AL , Bruce Hatch (Nancy Johnston) of Millington, TN and Patrick Hatch of Odenville, AL; a daughter, Dana Venable (Craig) of Pinson, TN; six grandchildren, Zoë Hatch, Sydney Hatch, Amy Hatch, Damian Hatch, Linsay Burkeen (Bud) and Emily Lipford; two great grandchildren, Ava Grace Burkeen and Noah Burkeen; a brother, David Hatch of Selmer and a sister, Emma Hopper of Enville.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Monday, October 9th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bob Hatch and Patrick Hatch officiating. Burial will follow at Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue beginning at 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Monday service time.
