Pastor Bobby J. Loving, of Austin, Tx., was born on February 4, 1943, to Lee Roy and Emma Loving. He was the last child born to this union.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lee Roy and Emma Loving, brothers: Lee Roy Jr., Howard Loving and Willie B. Loving, sisters: Amanda Owens and Fannie Cook, daughter: Lisa F. Loving, and grandson: Michael Ezra Walker.
He joined the military after high school and served in the National Guards after his honorable discharge from the Air Force.
Reverend Loving worked 20+ years as a Data Entry Clerk at the United States Postal Service (USPS) in Austin. During his tenure at USPS, he won numerous awards for his outstanding service. After retiring in 1992, he worked as a clerk at Texas Mail House and later joined the mailroom at Texas Health and Human Services, where he was soon promoted to supervisor. He finally retired (for good) in February 2003.
From 2003-2005, he mentored young men at Webb Middle School. Partners in Education, in association with the Greater Austin Chamber and the Austin Independent School District, presented him with two Certificates of Recognition for his dedicated service to mentoring young minds.
In addition to his work in mailrooms around Austin, Reverend Loving was Assistant Pastor of Woods Memorial (#1 C.O.G.I.C.) before being asked to pastor Taylor #1 in Taylor, Texas. After a 12-year stint as pastor, Reverend Loving resigned from Taylor #1. In 2002, Reverend Loving, along with Sis. Loving and Mother Buchanan, established Refuge Holiness Church. He remained pastor at Refuge for 20 years before retiring from pastoring in 2022.
Pastor Loving departed this earthly life, at the age of 80, on Monday, July 10, 2023. He is survived by his wife: Iris C. Loving; children: Bobby J. Loving, Jr., Carla L. Loving, Stephanie L. Loving-Walker (Larry) and Joshua E. Loving; sisters: Earnestine Carter, and Mary Harrison; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Bobby will be held Monday, July 24, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Ih-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 10:30 AM, at the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 2:30 PM at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209.

I Love you Pop. I am going to miss you greatly. I thank you for all of your teachings and all of your instructions. I am a better man, Better Father and a better Pastor because of the insturctions and the tools that you gave to me. by me watching your actions.
