Bobby Gene Matherly, 84, of Dayton, passed away at his home on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021. He moved to Rhea County from Texas in 1987 and was of the Baptist faith. Bobby loved golf, mowing his yard, attending church and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Bessie Thomas Matherly; three daughters, Gail Matherly, Karen Enos and Janet Libson; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; four children, Donna Matherly of Dayton, Dale Robert Matherly of East Ridge, Tenn., Rebecca Wilson of Texas, and Eddie Lindsey of Oliver Springs, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
