Bobby Allen McKay, 77, of Moulton, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Huntsville Hospital. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Lawrence Funeral Home with Scotty Letson officiating. Burial will be at Moulton Memory Gardens.
Born on November 11, 1947 to the late Leonard and Doris Way McKay, Bobby was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also loved to dance and sing karaoke with the "Bobby Rai's Crew". Bobby retired from Wolverine Tube after over 25 years of service.
As a young man, in 1967 Bobby was drafted into the US Army serving during Vietnam. He proudly served until his honorable discharge in 1969 having been awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and earned his Sharpshooter Medal for both Pistol and Rifle along with his Expert (M-60 MG) Medal. Although he rarely discussed his military service, Bobby was proud to have served his country.
Survivors include his sons, Allen (Selina) McKay, and Joey (Rebecca) McKay; grandchildren, Joshua Tyler (Haley) Pepper, Hunter Pepper, Briley (Nick) Liles, and Andee Brooke McKay; great-grandchildren, Kinley Pepper, Brynlee Faye Liles, and Korbyn Jane Liles; brother, Wayne (Joan) McKay; niece, Amy (Joe) King; great-niece, Lucy King; and special friend, Tammy Lamons.
Pallbearers will be Mike Frost, Jeff Legg, Jacob Moody, Eric Tippett, Rodger Riddle, Ashley Alexander, and Michael Weeks. Honorary pallbearers are Donnie Borden, Dennis Way, Heath Hodge, Josh LouAllen, Keith Montgomery, Dustin Tobias, Tim Pitt, Andrew Walker, Bryant England, and Shane Woods.
The family extends special thanks to the Bobby Rai's Crew for keeping Mr. Bobby young for the last eight years.
