Bobby Hill McLane, age 82, of Mount Ida, died Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at his home. He was born on July 19, 1929 at Mount Ida, the son of Gordon Clyde McLane and Allie Danley McLane. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Margarette McLane, Paula McLane and Maxine McLane Demby; and one brother, Clyde Junior McLane. He was employed with the US Forest Service for 27 years and Demby-McLane Realty for 20 years. A member of the Mount Ida First Baptist Church, he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ida Sue McLane of Mount Ida; his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Gwena McLane of Forest Hill, Louisiana; his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Sam Amerson of Mount Ida; four grandchildren, Greg Amerson, and his wife, Debra, Sarah Amerson, Nathan McLane and Ann McLane; and three great-grandchildren, Keenan Amerson, Brady Amerson and Piper Mei Amerson. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 2, 2012 in the Mount Ida First Baptist Church with Rev. Don Jones and Rev. John Guerra officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the church. Interment will be in the Mount Ida Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Mike O'Neal, Charley O'Neal, James Demby, Nathan McLane, Sam Amerson and Greg O'Neal. Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Ambassador Sunday School Class of Mount Ida First Baptist Church, Bill Cobb, Ben Jordan, Hugh Demby and Greg Amerson. Memorials may be made to the Mount Ida First Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 87, Mount Ida, Arkansas 71957. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
