Bobby Joe Ottwell

Mr. Bobby Joe Ottwell, age 76 of Roxboro, NC, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 3, 2022 with his family by his side.
Bobby was born August 7, 1946 in Hunt County, Texas, son of the late Bobby and Dorothy Ottwell and was husband of 47 years to Darlene Yarboro Ottwell, who survives. Bobby was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam, and he continued to serve in the North Carolina National Guard and retired after 21 years of service. Bobby worked and retired from Eaton Corporation after 30 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Central Christian Church in Greenville, Texas.
Bobby enjoyed spending time doing yard work, piddling on the farm with his father-in-law, Nathaniel, watching Dallas Cowboys football, a good chocolate milkshake and listening to classic country and gospel music. Bobby enjoyed all the family vacations to the beach and mountains with his family. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his precious granddaughters, Nataleigh and Makenley and his fur baby, Bailey, who was always by his side. Bobby will always be remembered for his kind spirit, infectious laugh, gratitude and humbleness.
Surviving are he and his wife, Darlene's son, Brian Ottwell (Kerri) and their children, Nataleigh Ottwell and Makenley Ottwell of Roxboro, In addition are sons: Billy Ottwell (Patti) of Greenville, TX, Jeff Ottwell (Whitney) of Commerce, TX and Mark Ottwell; grandchildren: Hanna Gomez, Bradley Ottwell, Connor Ottwell and Catelyn Ottwell; two sisters: Virginia Pippin and Betty Miles of Campbell, TX; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so from 12-5 PM Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and other times at the home (389 Hicks Yarboro Road, Roxboro, NC 27574).
Due to inclement weather, funeral service will be held 2 PM Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at the Brooks & White Chapel with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Medi Home Health and Hospice for their exceptional care during Bobby's illness.
