Bobby Gene Pendergrass, lovingly known as Papaw Bobby, 89, born August 24, 1935. He was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. He was a good man, and a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved all his animals, especially his dog CP who was always by his side. He loved fishing and he was always one to share a joke.
He was loved very much by so many, and there are not enough words to describe how much he will be missed. He was a resident of Bradley County all his life. He worked most of his life and was retired from Hardwick Stove Company and Parris Roofing after many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over sixty years Reba Elizabeth Caldwell Pendergrass, son Dale Pendergrass, parents Gordon and Lela Pendergrass, and several of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by two of his siblings Margie Blackwell and Jody Pendergrass; three of his children: Mitchell Pendergrass, Sheila (Maurice) Albornoz, Alan (Athena) Pendergrass; daughter-in-law, Trena Pendergrass; grandchildren: Wendy (Randy) Scott, Misty Pendergrass, Jamie Evans, Christina (Jason) Gravell, Maurice Albornoz, Shania Albornoz, Cory Pendergrass, Aimee Harrod (Michael Harrod), Brandy Pendergrass, Kate (Bobby) Tinker, David (Heather) Pendergrass, Jill (Adam) Shuler; great Grandchildren: Sammy, Trinity, Hannah, Taylor, Morgan, Ashlee, Memphis, Jenna, Boston, Haley, Austin, Brianna, Tucker, Jaxon, Nolan, Ryann, Austin, Paige, Chloe, Izeyah, Roman, Kaia, Kenai, Adyson, and Jocelyn; great-great-grandchildren: Aralee, Jude, Bentley, Ezekiel, Braylee, Mia, Elliana, Holden, Mila, Jolyne, Leighton, and Sophie; several nieces and nephews; and cherished friends: Larry and Margaret Farmer, Randy Parris, and Smiley.
Pastor David Evans will be presiding with Randy Scott delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends at the viewing from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday the 20th of September. The service will be held at Gum Springs Baptist Church, 383 Gum Springs Rd NW, Georgetown, TN. The service will begin after at 5:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Standfield Baptist Church Cemetery, 1549 No Pone Rd NW, Georgetown TN 37336. Reception will follow immediately after back at Gum Springs Baptist Church.
