Bobby Perkins, Sr., a beloved figure in his community and a dedicated family man, passed away on September 9, 2025, at the age of 92 in Columbus, Georgia. Born on November 1, 1932, in Phenix City, Alabama, Bobby lived a life filled with love, hard work, and adventure. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on September 12, 2025, at Riverdale Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia begining at 11:00 AM
For over 30 years, he owned and operated Perkins Fender and Body Works, a testament to his skill and dedication to his craft. His commitment to excellence in his business endeared him to many, as did his warm-hearted nature and unwavering work ethic.
Bobby was married to his cherished wife, Dorothy, for 74 years. Their partnership was a beautiful example of love, companionship, and support, and together they created a nurturing home filled with laughter and warmth. Bobby was also a devoted father to his son, Bobby Perkins Jr., and a loving grandfather to Ray Perkins and Christy Hu, extending his legacy with four great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
An avid outdoorsman, Bobby found solace and excitement in nature, relishing the experiences of hunting and fishing. These passions not only connected him to the environment but also created lasting memories with his family.
He is preceded in death by his son, Donald R. Perkins, along with his father, Leon R. Perkins, and his mother, Nellie Perkins. Bobby’s spirit and love will continue to resonate within the hearts of his surviving family members and friends.
