Bobby Gene Richardson

Bobby Gene Richardson, 83, of Palatka, passed from this life on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Putnam Community Medical Center following an extended illness. Bobby was born in Tipton County, Tennessee to S.W. and Sarah Richardson and moved to Palatka in 1970 from Boliver, Tennessee. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Bobby owned and operated Reliable Appliance Service in Palatka for over 30 years. He had served as a deacon at Lemon Heights Baptist Church and was a member of Grace Fellowship. Bobby was also a member of Palatka Lodge #34 F&AM, the Putnam County Shrine Club as well as the Scottish Rite and York Rite Bodies of the Masonic Order. Bobby was a storyteller and loved talking with anyone who would listen. He loved his family dearly and especially his grandkids. Bobby enjoyed taking long drives and traveling as well as listening to his scanner so he would know things happening in the area.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Richardson.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nyta Richardson of Palatka, 2 sons, Brad Richardson (Gail) and Scott Richardson, all of Palatka, grandchildren, Andy Richardson (Alexis) of Piedmont, SC, Tiffany Richardson, Ashley Topliffe and Michael Richardson (Taylor) all of Palatka, great-grandchildren, Taylor Richardson, Braxton Richardson, Elyse Richardson all of Palatka, and Audrey Richardson and Alex Richardson both of Piedmont, SC and a sister, Patsy Tritt (Wayne) of Brownsville, TN.
Services celebrating Bobby's life will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor Terry Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill West Cemetery with the U.S. Air Force conducting military honors. The family will receive friends Thursday at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. until the time of services at 2:00 P.M.
