Bobby Gene Therrell, 86, beloved husband of 37 years to Sandra Bradham, died Monday, January 12, 2026, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.
Born in
Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late William Soloman Therrell and Bobbie Louise Haywood Therrell.
Bobby was a member of First Church of God. He was retired CEO and president of Thero-Chem Incorporated and part owner of Organic of SC, Organic Products International and Biological Solutions. In 2022 his business took him to Japan, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, and Tibet.
Over the years he had several companies. His last company started in his carport. He and his partners developed an all-natural food product and sanitizer.
He was a former 32 nd degree Mason and Shriner, He helped organize and was a charter member of the Mecklenburg, NC Jaycees. He was a former member of Sunset Country Club and served on numerous boards.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Sheila Steptoe (Dr. Kirk Steptoe), Sharon Haddock (Glenn Turner), Brad Privette (Tonya) and Amanda Tindal (Wells).
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Drew Steptoe, Grace Steptoe, Rose Steptoe (Dr. Joseph Spearman), Josh Davis, Mary Allison Hefner, Stirling Tindal, Claire Tindal, Addyson Privette, Jess Warren; two great granddaughters, Anslee Thompson and Lelia Hefner, along with a number of nieces and nephews, as well as close friends Bill Lacey and Lawrence Turner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, William Robert Therrell, Samuel Ray Therrell and his sister Ruby Therrell Kestler.
The Therrell Family would like to thank all the many doctors and nurses that took care of him during all his surgeries and sickness. A special thank you to his son-in-law, Dr. Kirk Steptoe, who pinpointed many of his issues and took many phone calls day and night.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, January 19, 2026, at the First Church of God, 1835 Camden Highway,
Sumter, SC, 29153 with the Rev. Ron Bower officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. Monday at the church prior to the service and other times at the home.
Burial will follow in the Sumter Cemetery.
