Bobby Allan Wheeler

Bobby Allan Wheeler, 88, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

Bobby was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Joseph V. Wheeler and Marie Coots Wheeler. He was raised in the North Georgia area and spent much of his life in Cedar Bluff, Alabama. Bobby was a dedicated and hardworking man who retired from Shaw Industries in 2009 after more than 40 years of service. A man of Christian faith, he lived a life guided by love for his family and kindness toward others.

Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He treasured time spent with his family and leaves behind a legacy of faith, devotion, and cherished memories. His presence, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Faye Wheeler; his daughter, Rebecca Kay Wheeler; and his brothers, Joseph Wheeler, Don Wheeler, Lamon Wheeler, and Wendell Wheeler.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 13 years, Carol Posch; daughter, Angela Wheeler (Gary) Moore; stepchildren, Kathy Darlene Goines, Erica (Brad) Latham, and Jonathan (Rebecca) Black; sisters, Linda Gilbert and Delores Williams; brother, Gene Wheeler; grandchildren, Christy Blake, Julia Matthews, and Travis Latham; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, in the chapel of W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe, with Minister Randall Stancil officiating. Interment will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
