Bobby Kenneth Williams

Bobby Kenneth Williams, 81, of Morganton, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at his residence following a period of declining health. Bobby was born April 17, 1941 in Avery County to the late Bill Williams and Catherine Hicks Williams. He enjoyed bird watching and fishing; but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Clifton Williams; brother, Carl Williams; and sisters, Jessie Causby, Geraldine Cooper, and Jan Lail. He is survived by his son, Michael Williams of Asheville; daughters, Sandra Poarch of Caldwell County, Vickie Hubbard and husband David of Morganton, Deana Scarboro and husband Michael of Morganton, and Robin Spann and husband Keith of Morganton; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Herman Williams of Hickory; sisters, Judy Denton and husband Mark of Drexel, and Christine Woodard and husband Gary of Valdese; and numerous nieces and nephews. A mausoleum service will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 4:30 PM at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday prior to the service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
