Bobbye Ann Jolly Rorie stepped into the presence of her Savior after a life marked by devotion, steadiness, and quiet strength. Born on May 31, 1941, to the late Sheriff John Jolly and Katherine Hall Jolly, Bobbye Ann grew up with a deep sense of responsibility, faith, and family-values she carried faithfully throughout her life.
For more than thirty years, she poured her heart into the fifth-grade classroom at East Union School. Generations of students remember her not only as a teacher, but as a guiding voice-gentle, consistent, and impossibly patient. She loved her students as if they were her own, and they loved her in return. Her influence lives on in countless lives shaped by her steady hand and the belief she had in each child who walked through her door.
A proud and spirited Mississippi State Bulldog, Bobbye cheered on the maroon and white through football seasons, basketball seasons, and everything in between. Her loyalty ran deep, and she wore it with joy.
Her faith was no doubt the epicenter of her life. Bobbye delighted in sharing Our Daily Bread devotionals, never missing an opportunity to encourage others with Scripture and hope. She was a devoted member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she worshipped, served, and built lasting relationships.
Bobbye Ann married the love of her life, the late Otis Ray Rorie, with whom she shared many years of partnership and devotion. Together, they built a family rooted in love, humor, and faithfulness.
She is survived by her son, Ricky Ray Rorie (Missy); her three grandchildren, Sam Rorie (Anna Claire), Cara Ann Richey (Payton), and Casey Rorie; and seven great-grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy to her later years. She also leaves behind her "adopted daughter," Sharon Bramlitt, who held a special place in her heart; and two beloved cousins, Belvia Giachelli and Charles Herrod, who remained lifelong companions.
Bobbye was known for many things, but her cooking was legendary. Her cheesecake and chicken salad were the kind of recipes people begged for but could never quite recreate-because the real secret ingredient was her love of feeding people well.
Visitation will be at Hillcrest Baptist Church on Monday, December 1, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Whit Lewis will officiate. Burial will be at Fairfield Cemetery in Blue Springs.
Pallbearers will be Sam Rorie, Casey Rorie, Payton Richey, Bobby Morman, Greg Giachelli, and Jason Jordan.
The family request that memorial donations be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church or to Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo.
Bobbye Ann lived a life that mattered-one shaped by faith, family, service, and a tender kind of strength that left the world gentler than she found it. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Until that glorious day!
