Bonita Wilmet

Bonita (Clabots) Wilmet, of De Pere, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2023. Bonnie was born on August 27, 1944 (her father's birthday), to Clete and Bonita Clabots of De Pere while Clete was deployed in Europe during World War II. Bonnie attended St. Francis Xavier grade school and graduated from De Pere High School in 1963. After high school she was employed briefly at Fort Howard Paper Company as a secretary. She met our Dad Bob Wilmet and they married on May 23, 1964. Together the couple enjoyed 49 years of marriage until Dad's passing in 2014. Mom was a devoted caregiver to Dad as he overcame several health issues through his life. She worked as a stay-at-home mom and later was employed for many years as a receptionist at a local law firm. Mom had a beautiful singing voice, loved to decorate her home for each season of the year, was blessed with a green thumb and spent many hours knitting afghans, scarves and other items for her children and grandchildren.
Bonnie is survived by her daughters Pamela Pirman (Wayne) and their daughters Elly and Milena; and Paula Bildings (Ray) and their children Emmy (fiance Trey Butrym), Lizzy Mathu (Joe) and John. In addition, she is survived by her siblings Margaret Vieau (Mike); Mary Klubertanz (Cleo), and Peter (Nancy), dear family friend Lynn DeBaker as well as brother-in-law Jack Wilmet (Marlene) along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, brother Michael Clabots; Bob's parents and siblings Cathy Baylie (Rich), Joan Kreuser (Bill), Richard Wilmet, Mary Knoll (Dave) and Shirley Wilmet.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 14, 2023, from 9:00 am -10:30 am followed by Mass at St. Francis Xavier Parish 220 S. Michigan St. De Pere. We are comforted to know Mom's spirit will live on through the gift of tissue and organ donation.
