Bonnie J. Bookless

Bonnie J. Bookless, 86, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on September 18, 2024 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cale and Iva McCormick; her sister, Doris Gibbs; and her brother, Jim McCormick. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Lawrence Bookless; and her daughter, Lisa Donley (Kelly), both of Wichita. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Megan (Kevin) Brashears of Chicago, IL, Maggie Donley of Wichita, and Zac Donley of Washington, DC.
Bonnie was the family's social butterfly, belonging to many groups, including PEO and, most recently, Sunflower Friends in Wichita. She enjoyed attending Lunch Bunch with her friends on Wednesdays, Happy Hour any day of the week and meeting for breakfast on Thursdays. She could often be found playing bridge, hand and foot, and bunko. If you asked about her grandchildren, you'd better take a seat - she loved sharing stories about them. She was overjoyed when her first great-grandchild, Roman, joined the family in February. She will be missed by all.

Services are in the care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.
