Bonnie Harwood Denton

Bonnie Faye Harwood Denton, born February 18, 1937, in the Movella community, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at The Residence at Rocky Creek in Lucedale, Mississippi. She was 89 years old.

Bonnie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose gentle spirit and unwavering love touched all who knew her. Rooted deeply in her faith and community, she carried with her the values of resilience and devotion throughout her life. Her steady presence strength created a foundation for her family that will be treasured for generations. Mrs. Bonnie was the office manager at Mobile Tractor for over 30 years.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Joe B. Harwood, Jr. and Lewis Denton; her parents, Gertie Cowart and Louie Cowart; and her sisters, Cleo (Wilbur) Shouse and Farron (Fred) Yates.

She is survived by her son, Alan (Lois) Harwood, and her daughter, Angela (Doug) Johnson. Her grandchildren include Faith (Eric) Lawshe, Caralee (Gracen) Kittrell, Lisa Marie (Chris) Bufkin, Olivia (Chandler) Howell, and Jason (Jesi) Harwood. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.

Bonnie will be remembered for her dedication to family, her grit, and her determination with which she approached every chapter of her life. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she leaves behind will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to those who loved her.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 10am at Pineview Missionary Baptist Church, 110 Bennie Wall Rd Lucedale, MS 39452.
