February 25, 1944 - November 8, 2023
Beaufort, South Carolina - Bonnie La'Claire Gray, 79, widow of Gene Gray, of Beaufort, SC, died Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family after a brief battle of pancreatic cancer.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 5-7pm at Anderson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 12:00 noon in Carl Anderson Memorial Chapel with interment in Beaufort National Cemetery at 1pm.
Mrs. Gray was born on February 25, 1944 in Miley, SC. She is the daughter of the late Clarence Cook and Minnie Moody Cook.
Bonnie worked for Coastal Contractors for over 30 years and developed many lifelong friends. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved decorating for the holidays and spending time with family. Her passions were working in her yard with her plants and an avid bird watcher.
Surviving are two sons, Mickey G. Gray (Brandy) and Mark A. Gray (Beth); three brothers, Laymon Cook (Fran), Larry Cook (Anne) and James Carlise Cook (Gloria); one sister, Faye Wooten (Allen); one sister in-law Judy Cook; two grandchildren, Emma La'Claire Gray and Logan Mark Gray. She has many nieces and nephews that have brought lots of joy to her life.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Norris Cook and Rhett Cook; two sisters, Peggy Gooding and Sandra DeHay.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Wreaths Across America PO Box 249 Columbia Falls ME 04623 designated for the Beaufort National Cemetary.
Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
