Bonnie Lucille Hahn.
Bonnie Lucille Hahn passed away on October 31, 2025 at Pioneer Manor in Hay Springs NE. A funeral service will be held Monday, December 29th 2025 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 10 a.m. There will be a burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron following the memorial service.
Bonnie was born on December 23rd, 1939 in Montrose CO. She attended Morgan Grade School and High School in Montrose. Following High School graduation, she attended Mesa University in Grand Junction CO for one year. She spoke often of her alma mater and could still sing their fight song. Bonnie met and married John H Hahn at Gunnison National Forest where he was employed with the U.S. Forest Service and she worked at a resort in Sapinero CO during her summer break. They were married on November 20, 1960. To this union two children were born John Matthew and JoAnn Elaine.
They moved from Gunnison to West Plains, Missouri where they owned and operated a Grade A Dairy and saw mill for 9 years. They sold their Dairy and moved to the Wyoming area living in both Lovell and Sheridan were John again worked for the Forest Service and Bonnie raised her children and managed their home.
John and Bonnie were transferred to Chadron NE with the Forest Service in 1974. After John retired from the Forest Service they worked as a team to run a ranch and a saw mill until 2001. After the saw mill closed Bonnie worked at a telemarketing agency in Chadron for several years.
Bonnie greatly enjoyed clubs and organization all of her life, during her High School years she was part of Rainbow girls and enjoyed dressing up for the teas and socials. During her years in Chadron, she was a member of Card Club and Ladies Extension. She relished her friendships with all of these women. Bonnie especially liked her time as a member of the Red Hat Society. She was always on the lookout for red hats and purple clothing. Her granddaughter, Maddie and friends loved dressing up in her clothes and Bonnie was always right in the middle with them. Bonnie was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Bonnie lived a full and active life and she will be missed by family and friends.
Survivors include son John (Molly) and daughter JoAnn (Rob) grandchildren Jake (Adrienne), Jessica (Ryan), Jennifer (Dan), Michael (Sheyenne), Zach (Kaelie), Maddie, Cody (Audra), Shaley & Jesse (Travis); sisters Janett & Tammra and numerous great grandchildren and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Tillie Elliott, brothers Monty Lee & Kenneth and daughter-in-law Guylia Hahn.
