Bonnie Mae Coe Hester, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Terra Bella Pheasant Ridge in Roanoke, VA She was born in Roane County, WV to the late Ernest Dayton and Ruby Mae Harper Coe.
Bonnie retired from AO Smith and was a homemaker. She was a member of Long’s Chapel Christian Church and was very active in the Ladies Fellowship. Bonnie enjoyed crocheting and cooking for her family and friends. She loved her family and centered her life around caring for them and her extended family. She loved her grandpuppy “Prince” and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bonnie is survived by her son, Danny Ray Whited and wife, Debra of Hillsborough, NC; her daughters, Deborah Johnson and husband, Bert of Roanoke, VA and Denise Naylor and fiancé, David Poole of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Billy Joe Whited, Brandon Whited, Amanda (Brittany) Boltinghouse, Adam Whited, Morgan Johnson fiancé, Breanna Coley, BJ (Jerrica) Whited, Brandon Whited and fiancée, Amber, Jenny Sechrist, Jamie (Ericka) Sechrist, Jessica (Nick) Chelenza ; great grandchildren, Caleb, Jacob, and Taylor Holterman, CJ, Oliva, Daniel, Draven, Kaia and Owen Whited, Carter, Sawyer, Lexi and Amia Jade; sisters, Barbara Lee Huffman of Kanawha City, WV and Charla Kay Simmons and husband, Jim of Spencer, WV; Brother, Billy Ray Coe and wife, Denise of Walton, WV.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 49 years, Billy Ray Whited and former husband, Levi Allen Hester; sister, Phyllis Gail Harris and brother, Charles Dwayne “Wink” Coe.
A service to celebrate Bonnie’s life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Justin Simmons with the burial to follow at Long’s Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday at the Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
