Bonnie Louise James Pitts passed away peacefully in her home on July 28, 2025, with her family by her side. Bonnie was born on March 12, 1939, in Longview, Texas, and was a longtime resident of Sacramento to the late Dorothy and John Dollson. She was preceded in death by her siblings, John Dollson Jr., Willie M. Kirk Worthy, and Timothy L. Dollson.

Bonnie was the beloved wife of John Pitts. She was a devoted mother to four children: Larry Butler, Anthony Stone, Vanard Richardson, and Natasha James. She endured the heartbreaking loss of three of her children-Larry, Anthony, and Natasha-who preceded her in death.

A proud matriarch, Bonnie leaves behind a legacy her devoted son: Vanard Richardson Sr. and, daughter-in-law Rebecca Richardson. Her Twelve loving grandchildren: Vanard Richardson Jr., Larry Bulter., Coaleena Simmons, Andrea Byrd, Fe'la Dalton, Reno Richardson, Dajanique Rudulph, Shardea Rudulph, Patrick Walker Jr., Taliyah Cameron, Alexus Gredvig, and Isaiah Richardson.

Ten great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.

Her home was always welcoming for her many families and friends. Her family and friends adored her; her love and friendship will be greatly missed.

Bonnie's life was a testament of deep love for her family, warmth, resilience, and care. Her home was filled with vibrant plants and a flourishing garden that reflected her nurturing spirit. A gifted cook, she brought people together through meals that offered comfort and joy. Her beautiful spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

May she rest in eternal peace.
