Bonnie Mae Olson, 74 of rural Peterson, died Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in Rushford, MN.
Bonnie was born June 14, 1949 in Lanesboro, MN, to Milton and Betty (Soiney) Eide. She was raised in the Rushford and Chatfield area and attended Chatfield School. She worked as a homemaker and spent most of her days gardening, canning, taking care of her children and her husband. In her later years, she also became a loving caretaker of her grandchildren.
On October 18, 1975, she married the love of her life, Jerry Olson at the Whalan Lutheran Church. They made their home on his family farm in rural Peterson. There was nothing Bonnie loved more than spending quality time with her family. She enjoyed quilting baby blankets and mending various things for her family. She was a generous woman. Bonnie was always a devoted fan of her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed watching all their activities.
Bonnie was a faithful member of the Whalan Lutheran Church. She was a member of the quilting group and Women’s Circle.
She is survived by her mother, Betty; children, Angela (Travis) Steinfeldt of Onalaska and Michelle (Shawn) Kohner of Winona; grandchildren, Ashley Puig, Brandin Habeck, Miranda (John) Tidwell, Madeline Kohner, Elanna Kohner, Cameron Steinfeldt, and Cale Kohner; great-granddaughter, Aria, Sloane, and one more on the way; and siblings, Gerald (Ellen), Larry (Kathy), Rita (Wayne), Randy, and Gaylin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; father, Milton; sisters, Julie and Connie; son-in-law, Philip Puig; and in-laws, Millard and Elain Olson.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, April 29, 2024 at Whalan Lutheran Church with the Reverend Patricia Hinkie officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m., until the time of the service.
